Story:
Surya (Nikhil) is a petty thief;
he along with two of his team members does small time robberies. A precious
idol from Padmanabhaswamy temple, Thiruvananthapuram gets stolen and it travels
from one hand to another and finally reaches Hyderabad. Surya falls in love
with Swathi (Swathi) a journalist. The idol comes to the hands of Surya and his
team and a gangster Shankar is after them, what happens after that and how the
chase ends up forms the story?
Performances:
Nikhil was good, he underplayed the role well and suited to character of
sophisticated thief. Swathi was cute and bubbly. Pooja and Ravi babu are okay.
The remaining cast fitted well in their roles. Art work was okay. Editing was
fine. Cinematography was good. Music by Sunny was very much helpful for the movie.
The story is simple and the screenplay was interesting at times. The Direction
was good.
Analysis:
Nikhil
was good, his look was completely changed and he hasn’t done his mark over
action (imitating Raviteja), a lot of transformation can be seen in his action
and diction. He underplayed the role well. Swathi was cute and good. She suited
to the role well. Nikhil and
Swathi were paired up for the first time and the on screen Chemistry between
the pair is good. Their timing was perfect in most of the scenes. Pooja
Ramachandran, SS Music anchor who earlier appeared in Pizza Movie was apt for
the role and she has done justice to it. Ravi Babu has done typical gangster
role and he was good. Jeeva and other supporting cast were okay. The Production
values are low but the technicians made it look grand.
Art work was fine and the Editing was crisp
at times. The Cinematography is good. Some angles were creative. Some chasing
scenes were shot on Digital camera and they looked reasonably good after DI. Music
provided by the first timer Sunny has got good appreciation for classiness and
different orchestration. The songs were in sync of the film’s mood. The Music
literally lifted some scenes. The Background score was good.
The
Director was heavily inspired from Ramgopal varma’s flicks like Kshana
Kshanam, Anaganaga Oka Roju, Daud, Money, Govinda Govinda etc; the
narrative style was also similar in most scenes. The debutant director succeeded
in pulling off the film with strong technical crew. Even though most of the
scenes were inspired/ copied from past hit films. The Director should be lauded
for admitting the truth by putting a note in the start of the film that he
copies the scenes from the films that impress him. He narrated a serious
subject with lively and fresh scenes, a love thread in between and subtle
humour. The technicians helped in giving a class touch. The crew is fresh and
young and most of them were debutants as a result kind of rawness was visible
in many scenes.
The movie starts with the voice over of Nara
Rohith. The Jogi brothers’ scene was impressive. The first half was good with
racy narration and subtle love. The second half has lags in few episodes. The
climax and the pre-climax was stretched a bit, it may bore you. The Movie
appeals to ‘A’ centers and Multiplexes. We have to wait for the response of the
masses to know the actual Box office stamina.
